This page says where the feed comes from, how old an item is allowed to be, and what we do and do not do with someone else's reporting.

Age is part of the item
Nothing older than 10 days enters the feed, and every item carries its date and how long ago it was published. A news page is the one kind of page whose age is public: a stale feed is not merely less useful, it is visibly abandoned. If too few fresh stories exist to fill the page, the site is not rebuilt at all rather than rebuilt with old ones.
What we do with other people's work
We publish the headline, the outlet, the date, one line of summary and a link to the original. We do not rewrite the article in our own words and we do not reproduce it. The selection is the only thing here that is ours — which outlets, which subjects, and what gets left out.
Money
We earn a commission if you sign up through links on this site. It has no bearing on the feed: items are selected by subject and date, and no outlet or platform pays for placement.
